MMS Group has successfully completed LED Lighting Improvements to Albany Station as part of the Northern Busway Improvements for Auckland Transport.
This project included the supply and install of 202 LED Lights, 65 Switchboards, and 4 Lighting Columns. We were also required to excavate, test, repair and join existing underground cables, and reinstate surfaces including pavers and cobblestones.
Auckland Transport estimate a reduction of 65,455.60 kWh per year (translates to 9,163.78kg2 of CO2 emissions) – a saving of over 50%! All old lights were donated to Auckland Transport’s sustainability partner All Heart NZ; these lights now serve a new purpose in the community, rather than going to landfill.
We were faced with some challenges caused by weather conditions, specifically caused by Cyclone Gabrielle. Our Project Team collaborated with Auckland Transport to extend the programme by an additional month, allowing us to resolve and finalise the project in June 2023.
