About This Project

MMS Group are certified applicators for Armac and undertook the waterproofing and skid resistance coating of approximately 300m2 of footpath on the Story Bridge in Brisbane, Australia which was used as testing for durability.

Works consisted of removing the existing asphalt from the pavement using jack hammers and mechanically grinding the underlying waterproof membrane & glue from bridge slabs, high pressure waterblasting the surfaces removing dust & road film preparing surfaces for coatings, applying a bonding coat, whilst damp, and laying a screed of Inducret Bis 5/40 to the desired thickness (approx 50mm). Matacryl primer was applied by brush and rollers, followed by Matacryl manual membrane by trowelling & spike rollers. The application of Matacryl WL and broadcast to refusal with aggregate (0.7-1mm) to meet the skid resistance specifications.

All work was completed meeting the specifications and all the EPA, SMP’s and QA standards. MMS became a preferred supply for another Government department based on our execution of this work.
